Now Playing Tracks

I talked about this before, hoping for a music-genre videogame that didn’t suck. Music in the background is normal, but I’ve always felt there’s something about music being THE videogame.

Enter Wave Trip.

Via The Verge:

In the beginning, everything is quiet. But as you pilot your cute, triangular spaceship through the levels of Wave Trip, the world begins to fill with sound. For each coin you collect a new note is added to the soundtrack — whether it’s a thumping bass beat or the strum of a guitar — and before long you have a song to nod along to

Of all the games I’ve looked into - and trust me, I’ve played and/or looked into every single one of them - this one seems the most promising. It looks like a combination of Mario Paint, Atari Starship, and Guitar Hero.

  • Track Name

    Life Living Color

  • Artist

    Walt Ribeiro

lifelivingcolor:

19 songs in under 6 minutes! Can you name them all?

This reminds me of Forge Radio’s “Walt’s That Tune?” where their listeners guessed which of my songs was playing on the air. A 6 minute clip works hysterically well, too.

I’ve recently been considering releasing my orchestra covers without disclosing the song title to see if anyone can guess it correctly. If done well it would be a pretty fun game for us.

Tumblr Tag Game

I made up a Tumblr game called “Tag You’re It”, and I think we should all play it next week.

Here’s the idea:

1.) Someone makes an initial post that states an objective (The objective can be anything: “Tag You’re It: Cat Gifs”, “Tag You’re It: Memorable Quotes”, etc.)

2.) In the initial post are 10 tags - 1 for each random follower of theirs that they choose.

3.) Those 10 people have to reblog it and attach the objective (upload cat gifs, memorable quotes, or whatever) and then tag 10 more people.

The more ridiculous, the better. No rules. Just right.

Let’s play a game!

Take a band, change one letter, and then briefly explain what their music would be about.

I’ll start:

Gym Glass Heroes = songs about how mysterious superheroes made of glass win capture the flag and duck duck goose every single time.

You’re turn. Whatcha got?
